The Volvo C70 is a four-seater convertible with brilliant styling and elegant lines, and the retractable hardtop is an engineering masterpiece. The C70 only comes in one model, a hardtop convertible. It is powered by a 227-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-five engine matched with a five-speed Geartronic automatic transmission. Safety features include electronic stability and traction control and anti-lock brakes with brake force distribution. In addition to the front airbags, there are front side airbags, and air curtains which activate upwards from the doors, even with the windows rolled down. The Rollover Protection System, a pop-up rollbar, is activated by a "pyrotechnic charge", which will smash the rollbars through the glass if the roof is up. For 2011 the C70 includes a standard five-speed automatic transmission, adds full soft leather upholstery, and Sirius satellite radio. New front fenders, headlights and taillights complete the facelift. |

| The 2011 Volvo C70 T5 ($39,950) comes standard with leather upholstery, dual-zone electronic climate control, power front seats with memory, tilt/telescope leather steering wheel with audio controls, power heated outside mirrors with memory, and 160-watt in-dash CD/MP3 player, eight speakers and auxiliary and USB inputs, Sirius Satellite Radio, Bluetooth telephone interface, 17-inch Sirona alloy wheels.
A 5-speed automatic transmission is standard.
The Multimedia Package ($2,600) features the Dynaudio Premium Sound System with 12 speakers, five main amplifiers, two separate subwoofer/amplifiers, and Dolby ProLogic II Surround Sound, HDD navigation with real time traffic, remote control and Map Care.
The Dynamic Package ($1,000) includes 18-inch Midir alloy wheels with active dual xenon ABL headlights, a special three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel with aluminum inlays, and headlight washers.
The Convenience Package ($1,000) adds Keyless Drive, Homelink remote garage door opener, rear park assist, rearview mirror with compass.
The Climate Package ($900) comprises heated front seats, headlamp washers, rain-sensing wipers, Interior Air Quality System and a humidity sensor.
Stand-alone options include the Blind Spot Information System ($700) with power retractable mirrors; Cranberry leather; Nordic Light Oak wood interior trim; and special paint colors.
Safety features include electronic stability control with traction control, and anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake Assistance.
In addition to front airbags, there are side airbags in front, and air curtains which activate upwards from the doors, even with the windows rolled down.
The Rollover Protection System activates a pop-up roll bar in a roll-over situation.
Optional are Volvo's Blind Spot Information System and rear park assist. |
