2011 Volvo S80 Overview

The Volvo S80 is a modern, good looking, quick and powerful sedan with a surefooted stance and solid performance. New for 2011 the engines receive horsepower increases, the 3.2 liter engine to 240-hp, and the turbocharged 3.0 liter to 300-hp. The V8 is no longer available.

The front-wheel drive S80 is available with a 240-hp 3.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine or a 230-hp 3.2-liter PZEV engine. The T6 is available with all-wheel drive and a 300-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six. Both engines are matched with a six-speed Geartronic automatic transmission. Safety features include ABS, traction control, stability control, and six airbags. Adaptive cruise control, collision warning system with pre-braking, and blind-spot information system are optional, as well as active bi-xenon headlamps that follow the road around curves. Also included in the safety roster is the Personal Car Communicator, and an electronic key fob.

For 2011, the Volvo S80 is a carryover from 2010 with the addition of more horsepower.

The Volvo S80 is a handsome sedan with distinctive styling, though it's getting a bit long in the tooth.   The S80 shares the semi-fastback profile of the smaller Volvo S60.  

The S80 is comparable in size to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac CTS, and Lexus GS.  

Wheels on the S80 3.2 are a 17-inch design Volvo calls Cassini, with a bright-finish, nine-spoke pattern; they are available for the T6, also.   The T6 comes with 18-inch wheels in a pattern called Balius.   The 18-inch Fortuna Diamond Cut, optional for the S80 3.2, has seven spokes with machined surfaces at the tips.
